The body at the heart of the therapeutic experience: another pathway to our inner system. A workshop combining theoretical input, experiential exercises, and personal work to explore the role of the body in the therapeutic relationship.
Description de l’activité
In a world shaped by the body–mind–spirit separation inherited from the Western scientific worldview, and marked by acceleration, overstimulation, and a growing sense of disconnection from oneself, the body is often relegated to the background, even though it remains an essential site of perception, regulation, and connection.
Today, advances in our understanding of trauma and in somatic approaches invite us to consider the bodily experience as a privileged gateway to our inner world. In IFS, the body can thus become a space for encountering our parts—their sensations, their protective impulses, and what they carry—in a more embodied and conscious presence.
It is from this perspective that this workshop choses to place the body back at the heart of IFS practice, without setting it against a verbal approach. Indeed, we are often accustomed to distinguishing between “talk therapy” and “body-centered therapy.” In a truly holistic approach like IFS, the body and speech work together in the exploration of our inner world. In this workshop, we will therefore seek to integrate body, mind, and spirit in various ways.
Through theoretical input, bodily experiences, and times of personal exploration, we will examine how parts manifest in the body, the burdens they carry, and what they seek to protect. We’ll discover how working with the body can help unblending and facilitate access to the qualities of Self. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to reflect on our own relationship with the body and the role it plays in our lives, in our role as therapists, and in our relationships with the people we accompany.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Understand how parts and Self are connected to the body, as well as how each one manifests through it
Recognize how physical illnesses and their symptoms are linked to the inner system, and integrate these elements into their therapeutic practice
Develop active listening to the body—both their clients’ and their own—to strengthen connection and body awareness
Explore the cultural, social, and family legacies, as well as external influences that shape our perception of and relationship with the body
Identify the impact of trauma on the body and on one’s relationship with it, and adapt their interventions accordingly
Decrypt embodied narratives linked to ethnicity, gender, and identity, while taking into account their complexity
Assess the influence of their physical presence on the therapeutic relationship and on the dynamics in the therapy room
Identify and work with the many polarities that characterize the relationship to the body, both for themselves and for their clients
Explore the connection between the body and spirituality, and its role in the therapeutic process
Explore the conditions and methods for offering appropriate touch and a physical presence tailored to their clients
Integrate practical tools to incorporate the body into online sessions, despite physical distance
The Trainer
Einat Avni Bronstein is a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s School of Law (Israel) and holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington (United States). She has four children and one grandson, and lives in Israel. She is an experienced psychotherapist with over 30 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Einat trained in IFS from the very beginning of the model under Richard Schwartz. She embodies the IFS model in both her personal and professional live. In this capacity, she practices as a certified IFS therapist, certified supervisor, and senior international trainer for the IFSI. She leads Level 1, 2, and 3 training programs and has spoken on multiple occasions at the annual IFS conference, as well as leading IFS training programs, seminars, and workshops around the world. She also taught family and couples therapy for eight years at Tel Aviv University.
Einat is also co-founder and co-director of the Israeli IFS Institute, which introduced IFS to Israel and has trained hundreds of Israeli therapists in this model since 2008.
She has been active in the French-speaking IFS community since 2019.
Her areas of expertise include trauma, depression, eating disorders, addictions, marital and relationship issues, difficult life transitions, and group conflicts. In her approach to IFS, Einat places a strong emphasis on the body. She is particularly recognized for her clinical expertise in the somatic dimensions of therapy and for her ability to decode trauma stored in the body. Her specialty in this area focuses on the body as the language of preverbal exiles—that is, those whose trauma occurred before the child had developed language.
The Team
Alongside Einat, you can count on a small team to support the quality and depth of everyone’s work.
Bernard Piaget joins me in the translation process; our two voices complement each other to break down language barriers.
Patrica Péguy and Nadine d’Ydewalle will be there to support you on your journey through Einat’s proposals.
The Château de la Linotte
The Château de la Linotte is located on the outskirts of a small village in Haute-Saône.
Catherine and her team always give us an exceptionally warm welcome and delight us with delicious, healthy, and generous meals.

One large room and a studio with three double beds on separate mezzanines can be shared by three people.
Rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, in the order in which your registrations are received. If there are no rooms left in the category of your choice, we will notify you and assign you a room in the closest available category. If any rooms remain available shortly before the start of the training, they may be allocated to participants who wish to stay alone. The price of single rooms ranges from €450 to €675, depending on their amenities.
Those who wish to be certain of having a single room are encouraged to find accommodation in the region on their own. In this case, it is recommended that you have a vehicle.
